An easy walk through Patagonian forest, in an 18,000-hectare reserve 40 km from Punta Arenas

Laguna Parrillar National Reserve lies 40 kilometres southwest of Punta Arenas and protects over 18,000 hectares of forest and wetland. It was created in 1977 to safeguard the lagoon it is named after, the area’s water reserve.
The excursion begins by following the Strait of Magellan south and then takes a gravel road climbing to the reserve entrance.
Inside we take a gentle walk of a kilometre and a half, first along the lagoon and then through Patagonian deciduous forest. Calafate, sarsaparilla, peat, mosses and lichens grow along the way, and among the birds you commonly see thrushes, chimango caracaras, rufous-collared sparrows and southern caracaras. We return along the same trail.
This is the most accessible walk in our catalogue: uneven ground with gentle ups and downs, requiring no particular fitness. There are restrooms at the reserve entrance.
Price per person, based on a group of 2 passengers. For other group sizes, please ask for a quote. Other languages on request, please check availability.
