Australis Cruises is nominated in the World Cruise Awards
We're honored to share that Australis has been nominated once again in the World Cruise Awards. 💙
Torres del Paine National Park holds one of the highest puma concentrations in the world, and even so, seeing one depends on knowing where and when to look. This excursion goes out to track them with a tracker guide, a specialist who knows the territories, the timings and the signs the animal leaves behind.
The search is made mainly by vehicle and, where appropriate, on gentle walks along trails and authorised areas. Always respecting the distance, the timing and the behaviour of the animal. Through the day you also travel the landscapes of the park and observe other bird and mammal species.
The day begins before dawn and lasts around 18 hours from Puerto Natales. The exact departure time varies with the season and the day, because sunrise in Magallanes shifts by several hours between December and June.
IMPORTANT: this is a tailor-made excursion and does not guarantee a sighting, because the puma is a wild animal and this version runs over a single day. To improve your chances, we recommend the 2-day option: please ask for rates.
Pick-up is available in Puerto Natales or at hotels inside Torres del Paine National Park, except for those in the western sector of the park, such as Villa Serrano, Hotel Lago Grey or Patagonia Camp.
You need to be able to walk over uneven ground with exposure to changing weather conditions. There are restrooms at the lunch stop.
The published price is per person based on 2 passengers. If your group is larger or smaller, please ask for a quote, as the rate varies according to the number of passengers.
